Terms and Conditions
The short version: this is a simple, informational website for Joseph Laurence®. It does not sell anything, take sign-ups or run forms - It is here to share music, news and links. By using the site you agree to these terms. They are written to be clear rather than legalistic, and they do not take away any rights you have under UK law. If anything is unclear, just ask.

Who Runs This Site
This website (josephlaurence.com) is run by Joseph Laurence®, a sole songwriter and composer based in the United Kingdom. Where these terms say "I", "me" or "my", they mean Joseph Laurence; where they say "you" or "your", they mean you, the visitor.
You can reach me by email at hello@josephlaurence.com. This is the best way to raise anything about these terms or the content on the site.
Acceptance and Scope
By accessing or using this website you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
These terms apply to your use of the website itself. They sit alongside the Privacy Notice and the Cookie Policy, which form part of your agreement with me when you use the site. They do not cover the separate streaming and social platforms you can reach through the links here - Those services have their own terms, which apply when you visit them.
The Site Is Informational Only
This is a promotional and informational website about my music. It exists to share news, recordings, artwork and ways to listen and connect.
There are no products or services sold here. There is no shop, no checkout, no accounts and no sign-up. The "Connect" page is simply an email link plus outbound links to streaming and social platforms - It is not a contact form, and using it does not create any contract between us. Any release dates, project details or other information may change, and the site is provided for general guidance rather than as a promise.
Intellectual Property
All music, lyrics, sound recordings, compositions, artwork, photography, text and design on this site are © Joseph Laurence, or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. "Joseph Laurence®" is a registered trademark.
You are welcome to view and enjoy the site for your own personal, non-commercial use, and to share links to it. Beyond that, you may not copy, reproduce, download, distribute, adapt, sample, perform, broadcast or otherwise reuse any of the content, in whole or in part, without my prior written permission. If you would like to use anything, please email hello@josephlaurence.com and ask; I am happy to hear from you.
Some third-party names appear on the site - For example, Alton Towers and ARC Raiders. These are referenced only to identify the real-world inspiration behind the music. They are the trademarks and property of their respective owners, the references are descriptive and for identification only, and they do not imply any endorsement, affiliation or partnership.
Acceptable Use
Please use the site lawfully and reasonably. In particular, you agree not to:
- Use the site in any way that breaks any applicable law or regulation;
- Copy, scrape, mirror or systematically extract content except as allowed above or by law;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting or any connected systems, or to disrupt or interfere with how the site works;
- Introduce any malicious code, or use the site in a way that could damage it or impair anyone else's use of it;
- Misuse any name, trademark or content from the site, or present it in a misleading way.
Links to Other Sites
The site links out to third-party platforms - including Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube Music, Instagram and TikTok - so you can listen and follow along. These links are provided for convenience only.
I do not control these external sites and I am not responsible for their content, availability, practices or terms. A link does not mean I endorse the site or anything on it. Once you follow a link you leave josephlaurence.com, and that site's own terms and privacy policies apply, so I would encourage you to read them.
No Warranties
The site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While I aim to keep everything accurate and up to date, I make no warranties or guarantees, express or implied, that the content is complete, accurate or current, or that the site will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I exclude all warranties and conditions that are not expressly set out in these terms. Nothing here excludes any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site, or from reliance on any content on it. This includes any indirect or consequential loss, and any loss of data, profit, revenue or opportunity.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales. As this is a free, informational site, this section is intended to be fair and reasonable rather than to remove protections you are entitled to.
Changes to These Terms
I may update these terms from time to time - For example, if the site changes, or to keep them current with the law. When I do, I will revise the Last Updated date above.
Any changes take effect once they are posted here, so please check back occasionally. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
You and I agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, although if you are a consumer you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK in which you live.
How to Contact Me
If you have any questions about these terms, the content on the site, or a request to use any of it, please email hello@josephlaurence.com. I read everything that comes in and will do my best to reply.
