The Music

Four Records, Each Its Own World.

These are the projects taking shape right now. Different worlds, different weather - One thread running through them: a melody that would not leave me alone.

The Runaway Mine Train

Inspired by the Runaway Mine Train at Alton Towers

Golden-hour adrenaline - The rattle of the track, the scream into the drop, the joy of being a kid again.

This one is pure joy - A love letter to a lifelong favourite ride and the park it lives in. Summer queues and that first lift hill, the smell of the woods at Alton Towers and the roar as a coaster tears past the trees.

It is the sound of a perfect day out: euphoric, nostalgic, sun-soaked and a little bit silly in the best way. Big melodies, big drops, and a grin you cannot wipe off.

It is out now - And, to my absolute delight, Alton Towers themselves have had it playing in the office. The picture came first, the song followed, and now it is yours to ride.

The Inner Circle

Inspired by the people closest to me

The handful of people who are the centre of everything - And the adventures we get into together.

The Inner Circle is the most personal thing I have written. It is about my family and the small, fierce collection of friends who make up my world - The ones who show up, who get the joke before it lands, who are in the car when the plan changes for the better.

Each song is a person, a place or a night that meant something. The adventures we go on together run all the way through it - The spontaneous ones, the daft ones, the ones we will still be retelling in thirty years.

It is warm, it is anthemic in places and quiet in others, and it is unashamedly about belonging. A love letter to the few who make everything else worth it.

Arcadian Sky

Inspired by ARC Raiders

A beautiful, dangerous sky - And the small, stubborn hope of the people living under it.

Arcadian Sky began with a feeling I could not shake: standing in a place of impossible beauty while knowing the danger is real and overhead. It is the world of the raiders - Scavengers on a wounded Earth, looking up at a sky that gives and takes in the same breath.

Musically it is the widest of the four. Long, cinematic builds, electronics threaded through real-feeling orchestration, melodies that ache and then lift. It is music for the hush before the descent, and for the run home afterwards with your heart going.

Underneath the scale, though, it is a record about hope that refuses to quit - The quiet, human kind that keeps people moving when the sky is anything but kind.

The Theme Park Record

Inspired by theme parks and Alton Towers in general

A bigger love letter to theme parks - Every ride, every season, every queue worth the wait.

After The Runaway Mine Train, there is far more to say. This is the concept taking shape next - A whole record about theme parks, and Alton Towers in particular: the place, the rides, the seasons, the feeling of the gates opening on a summer morning.

It is early days and the songs are still arriving, but the world is already clear in my head - Bigger, bolder and even more joyful than a single ride could ever hold.
