The World

Inspired by ARC Raiders - Ambition at full stretch, and the price it asks.

This one is darker, and it means to be. It is the sound of standing your ground when the storm has already decided how it feels about you, and choosing the fight anyway.

There is a cost to reaching for something this big, and I did not want to hide it. The whole track is that tension - The thrill of the climb pulling hard against the weight of what it takes to get there.

Defiant, cinematic and built to be loud, it is a song about ambition with the volume all the way up. Sometimes the only honest answer to the odds is to square up and go.

The Sky Was the Limit - Lyrics

Intro

There was a time when the sky defined the boundary Until we crossed it

Verse

Two brothers, cold sand, borrowed faith Standing in the Californian wind Wood and wire, one breath from the grave Salt in the air, dawn settling in No crowd, no cameras, no second try Just open ground and an open sky Twelve seconds off the jealous earth And nothing's ever been the same since birth

Pre-Chorus

They didn't ask how far they'd go They just refused the ground they know

Chorus

They said the sky was the limit So we lifted higher We've heard that line before Built to serve a totalitarian empire From the first lift-off the ground To the edge of the unknown They said the sky was the limit But we were always meant to stay low

Verse

Aviation has entered a new era Engines low, crowd holding breath Oil-stained wings laughing at death Barnstorm nights, borrowed towns Fear and wonder raining down Letters crossed what miles once stole Time grew small, the world felt whole

Pre-Chorus

The world got closer, line by line When speed began to bend time

Chorus

They said the sky was the limit So we lifted higher We've heard that line before Built to serve a totalitarian empire From the first lift-off the ground To the edge of the unknown They said the sky was the limit But we were always meant to stay low

Verse

Welcome to the Jet Age Speed increasing Boundaries recalculated Trajectory, unsanctioned We observed ascent Repeated failure Course correction Persistence detected Adaptation confirmed

Chorus

They said the sky was the limit So we lifted higher We've heard that line before Built to serve a totalitarian empire

Verse

Some rules were written after the climb Not before the fall Hands on switches, eyes turned away Trusting systems we built too tall Not every voice was meant to decide Not every signal should command Learning when to hold the line Was harder than learning how to stand You are now leaving Earth Fire rising, white and loud Earth turns small behind the cloud Moon dust on a human hand One fragile world, no borders planned

Chorus

They said the sky was the limit So we lifted higher

Verse

But every edge we ever reached Just showed us more From twelve seconds over sand To rewriting time itself They said the sky was the limit But we were always meant to stay low This is not the end of flight Continuing forward

Outro

Above the ruins (above the ruins) Beyond the fire (beyond the fire) Silent giants (silent giants) Watching higher
